First review in English for the new album Otrov is online!
Powerful guitar-riffs, strong refrains and bombastic production are the main characteristics when it comes to new Alister’s album ’’Otrov’’ (Poison). First, I would like to note that I didn't expect so powerful and well-done production. The songs of Alister are, more or less, with a kind of stable structure with strong and straight-forward choruses. Also, after the checking of the first track I was also amazed by the vocals. The vocals are a kind of mixture. They're not so high, but yet they reminds me a lot on Brainstrom ones. Actually, I was trying to find a band which is similar to Alister’s music, and I think that comparing this promising and talented Serbian act with Brainstrom is really correct and fine one. The music is in same time very intense and strong but yet very dark and twisted. Alister is surely not a power metal band, in the most simple meaning of this word, but it is rather a mixture between few prominent styles. You're going to find there many different elements from power to thrash metal. Actually the vocals and the riffs stand indeed somewhere between. The lyrics are written in Serbian language. This somehow sounds strange but I think that this is going to be very interesting to foreign listeners. All in all, their latest release ’’Otrov’’ sounds really refreshing and professionally done which is not so characteristic for the Serbian bands. Since Serbian metal market is a still small place for the band, I really hope that their music and new full-length is going somehow and someway to find the path to foreign labels and listeners. All of you who are interested in fine dose of strong metal should check out this particular record.
